DESCRIPTION:Kofukan Karate Australia invites all karate practitioners to seminars with Shihan Keiji Tomiyama (9th Dan Tasshi Shito-ryu, 6th Dan Goju-ryu) in PERTH. Mr Tomiyama is President and Joint-Chief Instructor of Kofukan Shito-ryu Karate-do International.\nOPEN WORKSHOPS (MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS – FEE APPLIES)\nSaturday 19 July: All Grades sessions – Medina Hall, Medina WA\n\n9:30am-12:00 noon – session 1 – Fighting Combinations\n\nFighting combinations are taught throughout the kyu-grade syllabus.\nThese are practical attack combinations designed to create openings in kumite.\nFrequent moderate-high intensity\n\n\n1:30pm-4:00pm – session 2 – Pinan Hokei Kumite\n\nSequences inspired by Pinan/Heian Kata 1-5\nThese routines go beyond bunkai (analysis) by drilling back and forth partnerwork using the techniques and principles of the kata.\n\n\n\nSunday 20 July: Advanced sessions, brown and black belts (3rd kyu and above) ages 13+ – Casuarina-Wellard Community Hall, Wellard WA\nLimited Places. FREE lunch for those attending both sessions\n\n9:30am-12:00 noon – session 3 – Pinan Bunkai Kumite\n\nPBKs are advanced defensive applications inspired by the Pinan/Heian Kata 1-5.\nEach involves manipulation of posture/centre of gravity to take your opponent to the ground with savage efficiency.\n\n\n1:00pm-3:30pm – session 4 – Naihanchin Sandan & bunkai\n\nPractice the traditional Shito-Ryu Naihanchin Sandan (also known as Naihanchi, Naifanchin and Tekki Sandan).\nOne of the foundational shuri-te kata.\nBunkai (analysis) applications.\n\n\n\nPrice and registration: \nMembers: Saturday $25 per session, $40 both sessions. Sunday $35 per session, $60 both sessions.\nNon-Members: Saturday $45 per session, $80 both sessions.
